Supplements and food
Fulfilment for supplements, vitamins, sports nutrition and functional foods, such as protein bars, requires careful storage and handling. Consider, for example, how batches are handled, how shelf-life instructions and HACCP requirements are followed, and whether labels need to be added.
Specialist fulfilment companies
Fulfilment companies with proven experience in handling supplements, sports nutrition or other shelf-stable food products include:

Choose a fulfilment company that records batch numbers and expiry dates when products arrive. Its inventory software should display this information and ensure that stock with the earliest expiry date is shipped first. In the event of a recall, you need to identify which customers received products from the affected batch.
Supplements and food should be stored separately from other goods. Compare the storage conditions with your products’ storage instructions. Check, for example, whether the provider follows HACCP procedures, with arrangements for cleaning, temperature monitoring between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius, pest control and preventing moisture or contamination.
Labels and shipping within Europe
Do your products arrive without barcodes? Check whether the provider can add them. Do you sell in several European countries? Check whether your fulfilment company can add labels in the local language or replace existing labels.
Check which countries and carriers the provider supports. Some providers also offer access to manufacturing partners or VAT specialists. If you sell in markets where customers pay on delivery, your fulfilment company needs to collect these payments and transfer them to you.
Pricing
Are you considering several providers? Compare their costs too. For heavy products, such as tubs of protein powder, storage charged by space used may be cheaper than storage charged by weight. Additional tasks can also add substantial costs. These include applying labels, putting together bundles and adding samples.
